Orchard Training Program Details

CAEP Orchard Training Programs give individuals the opportunity to work with a variety of small fruit, soft fruit, and orchard fruit such as apples and kiwi. Orchard Training Program activities can range all the way from caring for orchards, including pruning and harvesting, transporting to market, marketing opportunities and farm maintenance. Orchard Training Program participants need to have the capability to perform physical labor.

This program can include:

  • Farm Maintenance
  • Pruning
  • Harvesting

Program Availability:

Begin in March to June and end in October

  • Weed and insect control
  • Pruning
  • Propagation
  • Pollination
  • Harvesting
  • Processing
  • Packaging
  • Storage
  • Distribution
  • Sales and Marketing (including farmer's markets)
